The New Inn is a delightful 300 year old inn, restaurant, cafe run by dedicated staff, under whose friendly care offers warm hospitality, a great selection of wines and fine cuisine.
Nestled between the Quantock Hills & Exmoor National Park The New Inn makes the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. This beautiful inn is positioned on the intersection of a popular walking route boasting some of England's most natural and unspoilt scenery, whether on foot, via bicycle or on horseback or in a car. We are just seven miles from the Somerset county town of Taunton and only 15 minutes walk from the famous West Somerset Railway! The North Somerset coast is just 30 minutes away.
The New Inn serves a fantastic selection of bar meals daily from 12pm till 3pm and again from 6pm till Late in the bar or garden, as well as serving evening meals in our romantic, candle lit, al a carte restaurant seven nights a week. The restaurant has a strong local reputation as a popular venue for both lunch and dinner, serving quality cuisine, using local produce (where possible) with influences from all over the globe. The New Inn also serves Tea Espresso Coffee as well as a Devonshire Tea's and a selection of cakes and sweets.
Why not come in and enjoy one of our excellent range of lagers, cask ales or ciders, soaking up the sun in our garden on a sunny summers afternoon, or should the weather not be so great, come have a glass of red or a nice hot liqueur coffee sitting by the log fire reading one of the many books the Inn's small library offers.
Halse is a popular destination for garden enthusiast, often holding garden shows and fetes. The fisherman, with fantastic spots close by to throw in a line. Lovers of theatre, often holding plays in the village hall, the New Inn and other locations. Hunters, with huge annual hunting outings and competitions.
